Joshuas Afghan

This afghan is made for my son Joshua when he was 13 years old. I started the squares about 5 years before that and put it away until early in 1998. I decided to make an afghan out of the squares in June of that year and I just started to put them together on the first of December. It was finally finished on December 5, 1998.

Fix Kid's Clothes
If your kid's clothes have holes, one way to be able to wear them still is to applique cute cutout shape onto the hole and put a liner on the back side of the fabric. You can get the shapes by using cookie cutters as a template. Then just use the satin stitch on your sewing machine to applique the patch on. If the hole is in a place where the machine cannot reach, you can use a fusible web product to fuse the patch onto the fabric then use a hand satin stitch to cover the edges. Or you can use a fabric paint to cover the edges.
