This scrunchie is fast and easy to make and several can be completed in an evening. It has a round of trebles followed by a round of shells. Very simple. It would make a quick and great bazaar item.

Materials Needed
Small amount worsted weight acrylic yarn of desired color.
Large hair elastic
Size G aluminum crochet hook
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Gauge: 4sc=1"
Finished Size: 5" diameter
Skill Level: Beginner

Instructions

RND 1: Tie yarn onto elastic band. Treat band as a starter ring. Ch5. *Tr in band. Ch1. Rep from * until you have 28 tr around. Join w/slst to 4th ch of ch5.

RND 2: Slst into the first ch1 sp. Ch1. 5dc in next ch1 sp. *Sc in next ch1 sp. 5dc in next ch1 sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off, weave ends into back of work.

Random Quick Tip!

Keep Your Hands Clean When crocheting for long periods, you may need to wash your hands while working with thread, you may also want to wash your hook as well. Some of the oils from your fingers may have gotten on the hook and can be transferred to your work. This happens to me.
