Assembly:
Prepare Pincushion Top

Step 1: Cut 6"e; off the bottom of a nylon stocking including the toe. Set aside for now.

Step 2: Shred the rest of the nylon stocking into itty bitty pieces. The way I did it was I laid out the stockings on a cutting mat and I used a rotary cutter and used it like a pizza cutter and just cut up the stockings by rolling the cutter every which way I could until I had pieces that were less then ½" in size. I made sure I had enough shredded to stuff into the cream cheese container so it was packed in their tightly.

Step 3: Stuff the toe of the stocking you set aside with the shredded nylon stockings.

Step 4: Using a double strand of sewing thread and run a long basting stitch around the nylon stocking to gather and close up the stocking just above where the clippings are. You want to make your cushion as flat as possible and the same width as the lid of the container.

Step 5: Hot glue the cushion to the top of the lid, so the gathering stitches are on the bottom and the smooth side is on the top. Make sure to get the edge of the cushion as close to the edge of the lid as possible.

Step 6: Place Crocheted Top over the nylon stuffed cushion and hot glue edge of Crocheted Top to outer rim of lid.

Step 7: Place cream cheese container inside Crocheted Bottom and pull the edges of the crochet Bottom up to just under the lip of the tub and hot glue edge in place all the way around.

Step 8: Fill your Sewing Kit Pincushion with your sewing kit supplies and put the Pincushion Lid on top!

*This particular yarn has been discontinued by the company and they recommend using Bernat Satin yarn with a size H hook. I have not tried this yarn but what you are looking for is something that is 3mm in thickness. I think any sport weight or baby weight shimmery yarn will work.

**You will need enough nylon stockings to tightly fit into the cream cheese container. Do not shred all of them, leave six inches of one leg intact including the toe.
