10 Mini Snowflakes

These mini snowflakes were first designed in 1992 by Julie A. Bolduc. They would look cute as package toppers or on a mini Christmas Tree.

Materials Needed
Small amount of White size 10 Crochet Cotton.
Southmaid was used for the example.
Size 7 Steel Crochet Hook
Fabric Stiffener
A large flat piece of styrofoam.
Rust Proof Pins
Plastic Wrap
Note: Make all snowflakes and weave all ends in first then stiffen them.
Stiffening
Cover the styrofoam board with the plastic wrap.
Dip all of the snowflakes into the fabric stiffener and lay them onto the board.
Pin them into place while shaping them into the desired shape.
Allow to dry overnight.
After they are dry, attach hangers to one of the points on each one.

Ch12, join w/slst to first ch to form ring.
RND 1: *Ch6, sc in ring. Rep from* 4 times more. Ch3. Dc in first ch of first ch6 lp.
RND 2: Ch3. slst in 3rd ch from hok. To make a picot. Slst in top of same lp. * Ch8, slst in next lp. Ch3, slst in 3rd ch from hook. Slst in same lp. Rep from * 4 times more. Ch4, tr in bottom of first pic made.
RND 3: Ch6, slst in 6th ch from hook and in top of lp. (picot made). *Ch6, slst in next lp. Make a ch6 pic. Rep from * 4 times more. Ch6, slst in base of first ch6 pic made. Fasten off.

Ch6, join w/slst to first ch to form ring.
RND 1: Ch4, *dc in ring. Ch1, rep from * 11 times more. Slst to 3rd ch of ch4.
RND 2: Slst into first ch1 sp. ch8. *Sk 1 ch1sp. Sc in next ch1 sp. Rep from * 4 times more. Ch4. Tr in first ch of the first ch8 lp.
RND 3: Ch4, slst in 4th ch from hook. Ch6, slst in 5th ch from hook. Ch4, slst in 4th ch from hook. Slst to the ch8 lp as you started in. You just finished a 3-pt-pic. *Ch5, slst in next ch8 lp. Work a 3-pt-pic in the ch8 lp. Rep from * 4 times more. Ch5, slst in base of first 3-pt-pic made. Fasten off.

Ch6, join w/slst to first ch to form ring.RND1: Ch3, dc in ring. Ch1. *Work 2dc in ring. Ch1. Rep from * 4 times more. Slst to top of ch3.
RND 2: Slst to first ch1 sp. Ch6, dc in same sp. *Dc in next ch1 sp. ch3, dc in same ch1 sp. Rep from * 4 times more. Slst in 3d ch of ch6.
RND 3: *Ch12, sc in sp bet dcs. Rep from * 4 times more. Ch12, slst in first ch of first ch12. Fasten off.

RND 2: *Ch10, sc in next sc. Rep from * 4 times more. Ch10. Slst in first ch of ch 10.
RND 3: Slst in first 4 chs of ch10 lp. Sc in top of this same lp. *Ch10, slst in 5th ch from hook. Ch5, sc in top of next ch10 lp. Rep from * 4 times more. Ch10, slst in 5th ch from hook. Ch5, slst in first ch of first ch10 lp of rnd. Fasten off.

RND 1: *Ch 12, slst in 4th ch from hook. Ch6, slst in 6th ch from hook. Ch4, slst in 4th ch from hook. Slst in opposite ch4 pic. Ch8, sc in ring. Rep from * 5 times more. Fasten off.

Ch6, join w/slst to first ch to form ring.
RND 1: Ch5, * dc in ring. Ch2. Rep from * 4 time more. Ch2. Slst in 3rd ch of ch5.
RND 2: Ch7, *dc in dc, ch4. Rep from * 4 times more. Ch4, slst in 3rd ch of ch7.
RND 3: *Ch2, dc in ch4 sp. Ch2. Tr in same sp. Ch3, slst in 3rd ch from hook. Tr in same sp. Ch2, sc in next dc. Rep from * in each ch 4 sp around. Slst in frist ch of rnd. Fasten off.

Ch6, join w/slst to first ch to form ring.
RND 1: Ch4, * dc in ring. Ch1. Rep from * 10 times more. Slst to 3rd ch of ch 4.
RND 2: *Ch4, slst in 4th ch from hook. Sc in ch1 sp. Ch6, slst in 4th ch from hook. Ch6, sls in 6th ch from hook, ch4, slst in 4th ch from hook. Ch2, sc in next ch1 sp. Rep from 8 5 times more. Slst into first st of rnd. Fasten off.

Ch18, join w/slst to first ch to form ring.
RND 1: *Ch6, sc in ring. Ch8, sc in ring. Rep from * 5 times more. Slst into base of first ch6.
RND 2: Slst into the first 2 chs of the first ch6. Sc in top of same ch6 lp. *Ch11. Slst in 5th ch from hook. Ch6, sc in next ch6 lp. Rep from * 5 times more. But slst in first sc of rnd. Fasten off.
Mini Snowflake #10
Ch12, join w/slst to first ch to form ring.
RND 1: Ch3, yo inset hook into ring. Draw up a lp. Draw lp through 2lps on hook twice. Yo draw yarn thorugh all lps on hook. Ch2. Dc in ring. Ch2. *(yo insert hook in ring. draw up a lp, draw lp through 2lps on hook.) work bet () 3 times total. Yo draw yarn through all 4 lps on hook. 3dccl made. Ch2. Dc in ring. Ch2. Rep from * 4 times more. Slst into top of first ch3 dc cl made.
RND 2: *Ch5, work a 3dccl in next dc. Ch5, sc in ntop of next dccl. Rep from * 5 times more. Fasten off. Weave all ends into work.
