Shell Stitch Plant Pot Cover

This plant pot cover can also be used as a decorative catch-all bucket for any room. Just change the color of the yarn to fit your decor.
Materials Needed
Large whipped topping container
.25" paper punch
2 oz Red Heart Fiesta worsted weight yarn in Lt. Sage color #6631
Size G/6 4.25mm aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Yarn Thickness: 3mm
Gauge: 5dc=1"
Finished Size: 6"wx6"h
Skill Level: Intermediate
Instructions
Punch 48 holes evenly spaced around rim of whipped topping container. Set aside.
RND 1: Ch4, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch2. 13hdc in ring. Join w/slst to top of ch2.
RND 2: Ch2. Hdc in same st as slst. 2hdc in each st around. Join w/slst to top of ch2.
RND 3: Ch3, 2dc in next st. *Dc in next st. 2dc in next st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 4: Ch3. Dc in same st as slst. Dc in each of the next 2 sts. *2dc in next st. Dc in each of the next 2 sts. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 5: Ch3. Dc in each st around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 6: Ch3. (Work 1 cluster over the next 3 sts. 3dc cluster made.) 4dc in same st as last st of cluster just made. *Work 1 4dc cluster over the next 4 sts. 4dc in same st as last st of cluster just made. Rep from * around. Join w/wslst to top of ch3.
RND 7: Slst in each of the first 2 dc. Slst in center of first shell between 2dc. Ch1 & sc in same sp. 4dc in next cluster. *Sc in center of next shell. 4dc in next cluster. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 8: Ch3. 3dc in same st as slst. Sc in center of next shell. *4dc in next sc. Sc in center of next shell. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 9: Ch1. Sc in same st as slst. 4dc in next sc. *Sc in center of next shell. 4dc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 10-17: Rep rnds 8 & 9 consecutively.
RND 18: Join to container in the following way. Working in only the dc of each shell, sc in each dc and in each hole of the prepared whipped topping container. Join w/slst to first st. Fasten off, weave all ends into work.
