Tutti Fruiti Trivet

This trivet is another made with an old CD. This one is best made with a CD because the center is lacy and would not protect your hands very well from hot items.
Materials Needed
Worsted weight cotton yarn in white and a multicolor yarn.
Size H/8 aluminum crochet hook
Old CD
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Yarn Thickness:3mm
Gauge: 4dc = 1"
Finished Size: 8" diam
Skill Level: Beginner
Instructions
RND 1: Ch6, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch4. *Dc in ring. Ch1. Rep from * 10 times more. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch4.
RND 2: Ch3, dc in same st as slst. Drop white, join multi & work a bobble (bl) in next ch 1 sp. *Drop multi and pick up white, 2dc in next dc. Drop white and pick up multi & bl in next ch1 sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off multi but not the white.
RND 3: Ch3, dc in same st as slst. Dc in next st. *2dc in next st. Dc in next st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
RND 4: Ch2. Hdc in next dc. 2hdc in next dc. *Hdc in each of the next 2 dc. Hdc in each of the next 2 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch2. Fasten off and weave all ends into back of work. Make a 2nd one the same way.
Finishing Assembly: With Multi colored yarn, join front to back wrong sides facing each other with a sc in each st around, making sure to slip the CD inside before closing. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.

Paper Templates in QuiltingTo make it easier to use small paper templates in making quilt blocks, put double stick tape on the back side of the template and stick it onto the fabric and use your ruler and rotary cutter to cut your quilt block piece following the lines of the template.
