Lacets & Shells Doily

This doily is fairly fast and easy to make and could be made in a couple of evenings. It is a good one to make for beginners because it uses just basic stitches.

Materials Needed
Size 10 crochet cotton in white. Southmaid was used in the example.
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 8sc=1"
Finished Size: 8" diam
Skill Level: Beginner

Instructions
RND 1: Ch12. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch5. Dc in same st as slst. Ch2. Sk 1 ch. *Dc, ch2, dc in next ch. Ch2. sk 1 ch. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5. You should now have 12 ch2 spaces.

RND 2: Slst into the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp. Ch1. Sk next ch2 sp. *3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. sk next ch2 sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 3: Slst into each of the next 2 dc and in the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp. Ch3. Sc in next ch1 sp. Ch3. *3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch3. Sc in next ch1 sp. Ch3. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 4: Ch3. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Sk next 2 dc. Dc in next dc. Ch6. *Dc in next dc. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Sk next 2 dc. Dc in next dc. Ch6. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 5: Ch5, dc in same st as slst. (3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Sk next 3dc. Dc, ch2, dc in next dc. Ch2. Sc in next ch6 sp. Ch2.) *Dc, ch2, dc in next dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 6: Ch5. Dc in next dc. (3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Sk 3 dc. Dcin next dc. Ch2. Dc in next dc. Ch2. Dc in next sc. Ch2.) *Dc in next dc. Ch2. Dc in next dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5.

RND 14: Ch1. *2sc in each of the next 4 ch2 sps. Sk next dc. Sc in each of the next 3 dc. Sc, ch2, sc in next ch2 sp. Sc in each of the next 3 dc. Sk next dc. Sc in each of the next 10 ch2 sps. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work. Starch and iron as needed to retain shape.
