Shells Doily

Shells Doily Designed By Julie A. Bolduc

This doily is made using the Shells Coaster motif. First one is made then each motif is joined as it is made on the last round. Using the joining technique in this pattern should make it possible to make an unlimited number of items with this motif. You are only limited by your imagination.

Materials Needed
Small amount size 10 crochet cotton. Southmaid in pink was used in the example
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle

Thread Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 10sc=1"
Finished Size: 6½" diam
Skill Level: Intermediate

Note, you make the outer motifs and form them into a ring. Then you make the center motif and add it at the last round.

Starch lightly to keep in place. You may not even need to use starch. You can use just an iron on cotton setting with steam to block it.
