Hidden Hearts Doily

This crocheted doily starts off in Filet crochet at the center, then is worked in the round using net stitches and shells to form 3 sections of hidden hearts with 3dc shells in each.

Materials Needed
Size 10 crochet cotton in pink. DMC Traditions was used in the example.
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 8sc=1"
Finished Size: 12"x6"
Skill Level: Intermediate

Instructions
ROW 1: Ch80. Dc in 8th ch from hook. *Ch2, sk 2 chs, dc in next ch. Rep from * across. You should end with a dc in the very last ch. Ch5, turn.

ROW 2: *Dc in next dc. Ch2. Rep from * across. End with a dc in 3rd ch of ch5. Ch5, turn.

ROW 3: *Dc in next dc. Ch1. Rep from * across. Dc in 3rd ch of ch5. Ch3, do not fasten off and do not turn. Now you will work in the round working down the left side first. Treat each space all the way around as a ch2 sp except for the corners. Treat those as ch5 corner spaces.

RND 1: 2dc in first sp. Ch1. 3dc in next sp. Ch1. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch5 corner sp. Ch1, 3dc in next sp, 23 times. Ch1. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch5 corner sp. Ch1. 3dc in next sp. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch5 corner sp. Ch1, 3dc in next sp 23 times. Ch1. 3dc in beginning space. Ch2. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 2: Slst into the next 2dc and in the next ch1 sp. Sc in same sp. Ch3, sc in next ch1 sp. Ch3. Sc, ch3, sc in next ch2 corner sp. Ch3, sc in next ch1 sp 24 times. Ch3.
