This fast and fun to make coaster is just the thing you need to protect your fine furniture from ugly water rings. It is just the right size for large mugs of coffee.

Materials Needed
Small amount worsted weight yarn of any color. Red Heart Fiesta yarn in color #6631 Lt Sage was used in the example.
Size G/6 4¼mm aluminum crochet hook
Yarn Needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 3mm
Gauge: 5sc=1"
Finished Size: 4" diam
Skill Level: Beginner

Frilly Coaster with mug

Instructions
RND 1: Ch5, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch2. 15 hdc in ring. Join w/slst to top of ch2.

RND 2: Ch3. Dc in same st as slst. Ch1. Sk next st. 4dc in next st. *2dc in next st. Ch1, sk next st. 4dc in next st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 3: Ch3. Dc in same st as slst. 2dc in next dc. Ch1. 1dc in each of the next 4 dc. Ch1. *2dc in next dc. Ch1. 2dc in next dc. Ch1. dc in each of the next 4 dc. ch1. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 4: Ch1. Slst in each st and ch st around. Join w/slst to first slst.

RND 5: Working on the same sts as all of the sl sts. Do the Following. Ch1. Sc in same st. Ch4. Sk next st. *sc in next st. ch4 sk next st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. Fasten off, weave all ends into back of work.
