Sparkle Cross Bookmark
Designed By Julie A. Bolduc
This bookmark is made with a glittery thread and has a long tail with beads at the end. The way to use this bookmark is to put the cross in the back of the book inside the back cover then use the long tail to mark where you are.

Tail*: String on all 45 beads. With the beads, you are going to make a 5 petal flower with 9 beads per petal. Join thread to top of cross to the right of the picot. Ch90 or as many as you need to go the whole length of your book plus at least an inch. Pull up 9 beads, ch1. Pull up 9 beads, slst in previous ch1, 4 times. Flower made. Dc in each ch back to the top of the cross and slst to top of cross to the left of the picot. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
*(Gauge is not really important with this pattern but I did get 9dc per inch.)
** You can make the tail as long or short you need by increasing or decreasing how many chains you make.

Random Quick Tip!
What Size Hook?If you are the type to have many projects going at the same time and some of those projects require the same size hook, well what do you do to mark your spot and remember what hook size is needed? Well, Julie Morash gave me the idea of making a marker which would have the size hook on it and then you would stick it in your work. Well I went with this concept and came up with using a plastic tab from a loaf of bread and mark the size hook on it with a magic marker and put it at the last stitch. That way, when you go back to work on the project, you will know what size hook to use for it. Thanks Julie for the inspiration and the idea plant.
