Bobble Shells Bookmark

Bobble Shells Designed By Julie A. Bolduc

This bookmark is easy to make and has a strip of bobble shells going up the center of it.

Materials Needed:
Size 10 crochet cotton in white
Size 10 crochet cotton n shaded pinks
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 10sc = 1"
Finished Size: 8"x2½"
Skill Level: Beginner

Special Stitch Used:
Bobble (bl): Yo, insert hook in st indicated, yo draw up a loop, yo draw thread through 2 lps on hook, rep from beg until you have 4 lps on hook. Then *yo, draw thread through all 4 lps on hook.

Instructions
ROW 1: Ch21. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch1, turn.

ROW 2: Sc in first sc. Ch3. Sk 2sc. *Sc in each of the next 2 sc. Ch3. Sk 2 sc. Rep from * 3 times more. Sc in last sc. Ch5, turn.

ROW 3: Dc in each of the next 2 sc. Ch3. Dc in next sc. Sk next sc. Bl, ch2, bl, ch2, bl in next ch3 sp. Sk next sc. Dc in next sc. Ch3. Dc in each of the next 2 sc. Ch2. Dc in last sc. Ch5, turn.

ROW 4: Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch3. Dc in next dc. Ch3. Sc in next ch2 sp. Ch3. Sc in next ch2 sp, ch3. Dc in next sc. Ch3. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch2. Dc in 3rd ch of ch5. Ch5, turn.

ROW 5: Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch3. Dc in next dc. Sk next ch3 sp. Bl, ch2, bl, ch2, bl in next ch3 sp. Dc in next dc. Ch3. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch2. Dc in 3rd ch of ch5. Ch5, turn.

ROW 6-31: Rep rows 4 & 5 consecutively. At the end of row 31, ch1, turn.

ROW 32: Sc in first dc. Ch2. Sc in each of the next 2dc. Ch3. Dc in next dc. Ch3. Sc in next ch2 sp. Ch3. Sc in next ch2 sp. Ch3. Dc in next dc. Ch3. Sc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch2. Sc in 3rd ch of ch5. Ch1, turn.

ROW 33: Sc in first sc. 2sc in next ch 2ps. Sc in each of the next 2 sc 3sc in next ch3 sp. Sc in next dc. Ch2. Sk next ch3 sp. bl, ch2, bl, ch2, bl in next ch3 sp. Ch2. Sc in next dc. Sc in each of the next 2 sc. 2sc in next ch2 sp. Sc in last sc. Fasten off white.

Finishing Perimeter: Join pink thread in left top corner of bookmark in the last sc made. Sc in same st. *Sc in next row. Ch1. (Sc, ch4, slst in 4th ch from hook, sc in next row. Ch1.) Rep from * down left side to next corner. Sc in next sc. Sc in enxt row. Ch2. to go around corner. Sc in each st across to next corner. Ch2 to go around corner. Sc in same st as last st. Sc in next row. Ch1. Rep bet () up right side to next corner. Sc, ch4, slst in 4th ch from hook, sc in last row. ch1. Sc in next row. Sc, ch2, sc in corner. Sc in each of the next 8 sts. Sc, ch4, slst in 4th ch from hook. Sc in enxt ch2 sp. Sc & dc in next ch2 sp. Ch5. Sls in 5th ch from hook. Dc & sc in next ch2 sp. Sc, ch4, slst in 4th ch from hook. Sc in next ch 2 sp. Sc in each of the last 8 sts. Join w/slst to first sc in perimeter. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
