Royal Filigree Bookmark

This book mark has what looks like crowns on either end of it. Hence the name. A foundation chain is made than then the bookmark is made in the round.

Materials Needed:

Size 20 Cebelia by DMC pink
size 11 steel crochet hook Boye was used.
tapestry needle

Yarn Thickness: 20thread
Gauge: 16 sc=1"
Finished Size: 1 ¼"x6 ½"
Skill Level: Intermediate

Instructions
Foundation
Ch10, sl st in 10th ch from hk. Ch60, sl st in 10th ch from hk. *Ch5, sk4 chs, sl st in next ch. Repeat from * across. Join with sl st to first sl st.

RND 1: Work 20 sc in ch10 lp. Work 6 sc in each of the next 10 lps. Work 20 sc in next ch10 lp. Work 6 sc in each lp across. Join with a sl st to first sc in ch10 lp.

RND 2&3: *Ch3, sk 1 sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from* around. Join with sl st to first ch of ch3.

RND 4: Ch3, sl st to center of first ch3. Sc in same sp.(Work 8 dc in next ch3 sp. Sc in next ch3 sp, 4dc, ch4. Sl st in 4th ch from hk. 4 dc in next ch3 sp. Sc in next ch3 sp. Work 8 dc in next ch3 sp. Sc in next ch3 sp.) Wk 2 sc in each of the next 33 ch3 sps. Repeat bet (). Wk 2sc in each of the next 33 ch3 sps. Join with sl st in first sc in rnd.

RND 5: *Ch3, sk1 st. Sc in next st. Repeat from* 5 times more. Ch3, sc in ch 4 picot. Ch3, sk 2 sts, sc in next st. (Ch3, sk1 st, sc in next st.) Repeat bet() 4 times more. [Ch2, sk2 sts, dc, ch2, dc in next st. Ch2, sk2, sls, sc in next st.] Repeat bet [] 10 more times. Repeat from * one more time.

Random Quick Tip!

Wrapping Doilies
If you are going to give a doily as a gift and it is the same diameter as a paper towel roll is long, use the paper towel core to put the doily in. Roll the doily up and tuck into the core. Wrap like a long piece of candy. I have done this and it looked really festive. You may want to use a piece of tissue paper to lay the doily on first before rolling it up.
