Teen's CD Player Holder

My daughter recently bought a CD player for herself and she asked me if I could make her a holder for the CD player. So this is what I came up with. It is sturdy because it has old CD's inside to keep it's shape and the strap goes all the way around it.

Materials Needed
Worsted weight acrylic yarn in lavendar
Worsted weight acrylic yarn in Amethyst.
Worsted weight acrylic yarn in light yellow.
2 old CD's
Size H/8 or 5mm aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Gauge: 4dc = 1"
Finished Size: 6&189;" wide, strap is 1&189; wide, CD part is 2" thick, overall length is 35"
Skill Level: Intermediate

Instructions
STEP Special Note: Make 2 with changing colors and 2 of just the light yellow. For a total of 4 circles. The instructions for changing colors but then for the yellow ones, ignore the changing colors part.

RND 1: With lavendar or yellow. Ch4. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch2. 12 hdc in ring. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. If making inside, do not fasten off. If making outside, fasten off lavendar.

RND 2: If changing colors, join Amethyst to same st as slst. For all. Ch3, dc in same st as slst. 2dc in each st around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 3: For all. Ch3. Dc in same st as slst. Dc in next st. *2dc in next st. Dc in next st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 4: For all. Ch3. Dc in same st as slst. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. *2dc in next st. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 5: For all. Ch3, dc in same st as slst. Dc in each of the next 3 dc. *2dc in next dc. Dc in each of the next 3 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off and weave all ends into back of work.

STEP Assemble the 2 sides of holder.: Repeat these instructions for both sides. Place 1 yellow and 1 purple circle together, wrong sides facing each other. Make sure the purple side is facing you. Insert hook through both layers through any st. Join light purple and work 1 sc in each st around being sure to insert a CD in before closing. Join w/slst to first sc. Fasten off and weave ends into work. Set finished circles aside for now.

STEP Strap: With yellow. Ch 250 or desired length. Being careful not to twist chain, join w/slst to first ch to form a honking large ring. Ch3. Dc in each ch around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.

STEP Assembly: Join strap to 1 circle. Place 1 circle and wrong side of strap together. Use Amethyst and 1 work 1 sc through both layers in each of 42 sts. Then work 1 sc in each stitch of the strap around. Join w/slst to first sc. Fasten off.

Other circle: Repeat as with other circle working on the other side of the strap. Work each sc between each dc of strap. Make sure you start and end in the same stitches as you did for the other side. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
