Mini Tree Top Angel

Mini Tree Top Angel Designed By Julie A. Bolduc

This angel is just the right size to put on top of a mini Christmas tree about 18" tall. You can also put an ornament hanger on the top and hang it from a regular tree.

Materials Needed
Size 10 crochet cotton in white. Southmaid was used in the example.
1 cotton ball
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends
1 5/8" white bone ring or plastic ring.

Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 8sc=1"
Finished Size: 4" tall
Skill Level: Intermediate

Instructions
Head
RND 1: Ch2, 8sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join w/slst to first sc.

RND 2: Ch1, 2sc in same st as slst. 2sc in each sc around. Join w/slst to first sc.

RND 3-8: Ch1, sc in same st as slst. Sc in each sc around. Join w/slst to first sc.

RND 9: Ch1. Sc in same st as slst. Pull up a loop in each of the next 2 sts. Yo, pull through all 3lps on hook. Dec made. *Sc in next st. Dec 1. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. (10sc.)

RND 10: Ch1. Sc in same st as slst. Sc in each st around. Join w/slst to first sc.

Shoulders:

RND 11: Ch3, dc in same st as slst. Ch2. *2dc in next st. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 12: Ch3. Dc in next dc. (Ch3. Dc in next ch2 sp. Ch3.) *Dc in each of the next 2 dc. rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

Waist
RND 13: Ch3. Dc in next dc. (Ch1. Dc in next ch3 sp. Ch1. Dc in next dc. Ch1. Dc in next ch3 sp. Ch1. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch1.) Sk 8 ch3 spaces. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Rep bet () once. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 14: Ch3. Dc in next dc. (Ch1, dc in next dc 3 times. Ch1. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch1.) Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Rep bet () once. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 15: Ch3. Dc in next dc. (Ch2, 2dc in next dc 3 times. Ch2. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch2.) Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Rep bet () once. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 16: Ch3, dc in same st as slst. Ch1. 2dc in next dc. Ch2. *2dc in next dc. Ch1. 2dc in next dc. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 17: Slst into the next dc and in next ch1 sp. Ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc in same sp. Ch2. *2dc, ch1, 2dc in next ch1 sp. Ch2. Rep from *around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 18-20: Rep RND 17.

RND 21: Slst into the next dc and in next ch1 sp. Sc in same sp. (3dc, ch5, 3dc in next ch2 sp.) *Sc in next ch1 sp. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. Fasten off and weave ends into work.

Wings:
RND 1: Place angel in front of you. Join thread to the same st as last dc in right side on RND 12. Ch4. (Dc in next ch2 sp, ch1. Dc in next dc. Ch1. Dc in next ch1 sp. Ch1. Dc in each of the next 2dc.) Ch1. Rep bet () 2 times more. Ch1. Dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Dc in next dc. Ch1. Dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Dc in next dc where there already is a stitch. Ch1. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch4.

RND 2: Ch3. Dc in same st as slst. (Ch1, 2dc in next dc 3 times. Ch1. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. ) Rep bet () once. Ch1, 2dc in next dc, 4 times. Ch1. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 3: Slst into the next dc & into the next ch1 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch5, 3dc in same sp. Sc in next ch2 sp, 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch1 sp 3 times. Sc in each of the next 2 dc. Sc in next ch1 sp, 3dc, ch5, 3dc in next ch1 sp 4 times. Sc in next ch1 sp. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

Next Wing:
Turn angel over and repeat as for first wing on other side. Fasten off and weave all ends into back of work. Starch or stiffen if desired.

Sew bone ring to top of head with the starting end thread.
