Kitty's Thick Blanket

Kitty's Thick Blanket Designed By Julie A. Bolduc

This blanket it made with 2 strands of yarn held together. One is acrylic and the other is cotton. It works up quickly and your cat is bound to love it. Of course you can keep going and make a full size afghan if you like.

Materials Needed
Worsted weight acrylic yarn in dark rose
Worsted weight cotton yarn in pink
Worsted weight cotton yarn in cream
Size K/10½ or 6½mm aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 7mm both held together
Gauge: 3ch = 1"
Finished Size: 13"x20½"
Skill Level: Beginner

Instructions
RND 1: Holding both strands together, ch22. 2dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2, 3dc in 4th ch from hook. Ch1. Sk 1 ch. (Dc in each of the next 3 chs. Ch1. 4 times.) 3dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch. Now you will work on the opposite de. Ch1. Sk 1 ch. (Dc in each of the next 3 chs. Ch1. Sk 1 ch. 4 times.) Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 2: Slst into each of the next 2 dc. Slst into the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp. Ch1. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. (3dc in next ch1 sp, ch1, five times.) Join w/slst to top of ch3. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp, ch1, twice. Rep bet () once. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 3: Slst into each of the next 2 dc. Slst into the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp. Ch1. [3dc in next ch1 sp. Ch1.] 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. (3dc in next ch1 sp, ch1, six times.) 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep bet [] once. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep bet () once. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 4: Slst into each of the next 2 dc. Slst into the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp. Ch1. [3dc in next ch1 sp, ch1, twice.] 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. (3dc in next ch1 sp, ch1, seven times.) 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep bet [] once. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep bet () once. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 5: Slst into each of the next 2 dc. Slst into the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp. Ch1. [3dc in next ch1 sp, ch1, three times.] 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. RND 7: Slst into each of the next 2 dc. Slst into the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp. Ch1. [3dc in next ch1 sp, ch1, five times.] 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. (3dc in next ch1 sp, ch1, ten times.) 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep bet [] once. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep bet () once. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off baby pink cotton yarn only. Tie on cream cotton yarn onto the baby pink yarn.

RND 8: Slst into each of the next 2 dc. Slst into the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp. Ch1. [3dc in next ch1 sp, ch1, six times.] 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. (3dc in next ch1 sp, ch1, eleven times.) 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep bet [] once. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep bet () once. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 9: Slst into each of the next 2 dc. Slst into the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same sp. Ch1. [3dc in next ch1 sp, ch1, seven times.] 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. (3dc in next ch1 sp, ch1, twelve times.) 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep bet [] once. 3dc, ch2, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. Rep bet () once. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off both yarns and weave all ends into back of work.
