Bobbles -n- Shells Kitty Blanket

This blanket is easy to make and is basically a large granny square and you can end at the end of any round to make a small granny square for use in any large afghan made up of squares.

Materials Needed
1 6oz skein worsted weight acrylic yarn in mulit color. Red Heart Super Saver in color number 0938 Stars & Stripes was used in the example
Size H/8 or 5mm aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needed for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Gauge: 3mm
Finished Size: 18"x18"

Instructions
Special Stitch Beg Bobble (beg bl): This bobble is for use at the beginning of a round. Ch3, Yo, insert hook in st indicated, yo draw up a loop, yo draw thread through 2 lps on hook, rep from beg until you have 3 lps on hook. Then *yo, draw thread through all 3 lps on hook.

Special Stitch Bobble (bl): This bobble is for use within a round. Yo, insert hook in st indicated, yo draw up a loop, yo draw thread through 2 lps on hook, rep from beg until you have 4 lps on hook. Then *yo, draw thread through all 4 lps on hook.

RND 1: Ch4. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch3, 2dc in ring. Ch2. 3dc in ring, ch2, 3 times. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 2: Slst in each of the next 2 dc and into the next ch2 sp. Beg bl, ch2, bl, ch2, bl in same sp. Ch2. *Bl, ch2, bl, ch2, bl in next ch2 sp. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of bet bl.

RND 3: Slst into the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 4 dc in same sp. (Ch2. 5dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1.) *5dc in next ch2 sp. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 4: Slst in each of the next 2 dc. Beg bl in same st. Ch2. (Bl, ch2, bl, ch2, bl in next ch2 corner sp. Ch2. Bl in 3rd dc of the next 5dc shell. Ch2, bl in next ch1 sp, twice.) *Bl in 3rd dc of the next 5dc shell. Ch2. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 5: Slst into the next ch2 sp. Ch3, 2dc in same sp. (Ch1. 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch2. 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1. 3dc in next ch2 sp. Ch1, 2dc in next ch2 sp, 3 times. Ch1.) *3dc in next ch2 sp. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.
