Beaded Petals Scrunchie

This beaded scrunchie is fast and easy to make. You could easily make a couple in an evening. It is done in 2 rounds. A base round of sc and chain stitches. Then the second round is made up of "petals" that have beads in them.

72 Pony beads in desired color. 9x6mm Barrel Pony Beads Color 272-- LT Pink Pearl
Worsted weight acrylic yarn. White. Red Heart super saver was used in the example.
Large hair elastic
Size H/8 or 5mm aluminum crochet hook
Yarn Needle for weaving in ends
Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Finished Size: 4" diam
Skill Level: Beginner
With yarn needle, string all 72 beads onto yarn.
RND 1: Tie yarn onto elastic. Ch1. Sc in elastic. Ch3. *2sc in elastic. Ch3. Rep from * 10 times more. Join w/slst to ch1. You should now have 12 ch3 spaces around.
RND 2: Ch1. Sc in next sc. Pull up a bead, ch1. pull up a bead, ch1, pull up a bead. Ch1. Dc in ch3 sp. Pull up a bead, ch1, pull up a bead, ch1, pull up a bead, ch1. Sc in next sc. *Sc in next sc. Pull up a bead, ch1. pull up a bead, ch1, pull up a bead. Ch1. Dc in ch3 sp. Pull up a bead, ch1, pull up a bead, ch1, pull up a bead, ch1. Sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off, weave ends into back of work.
