This star fridgie is made with this month's featured stitch, the flag stitch. The star motif in this pattern can easily be made into a 6 pointed star for use in an afghan. It is really fast and easy to make and you could make several in an evening.

Small amount Cherry Red Worsted Weight yarn. Red Heart was used.
Size H8 or 5mm aluminum crochet hook
1 white ribbon rose
1 yard 1/8" wide royal Blue ribbon
Hot glue or Jewel-it Glue Or a very tacky thick glue.
Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Finished Size: 3" diameter
Skill Level: Beginner
Flag Stitch (flg)
Work the following into the same stitch. Yo 2 times, (insert hook, draw up a loop, yo and draw through 2 lps on hook), Rep bet () once more. Yo draw through 2 more loops on hook, twice. Then sc in the last 2 lps you just worked off.
RND 1: Ch4. Join w/slst to first ch to form ring. *Sc in ring. Ch3. Rep from * 4 times more. Join w/slst to first sc.
RND 2: Slst into the ch3 sp. Work the following in each ch3 sp around. Sc, ch4, flg, ch4, sc. Join w/slst to first sc.
Finishing: Glue rose to just above center on one of the flag stitches. Cut a 6" piece of ribbon and set aside. Wrap the rest ribbon around your four fingers then tie the 6" piece around the center of it to make a bow. Let the 4 ends hang down in the center of the bow. Glue the bow to just under the rose.
