This dishcloth combines afghan stitch with regular double crochet for a unique and pretty effect.

Worsted weight cotton yarn in blue
Worsted weight cotton yarn in Daisy Ombre, Peaches & Creme
Size H/8 aluminum crochet hook
Size H/8 afghan hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Gauge: 4dc = 1"
Finished Size: 9½" x 8"
Skill Level: Beginner
ROW 1: With blue and regular hook. Ch 36, dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off.
ROW 2: Join daisy color to top of ch3 at the beginning of row. With afghan hook, work a row of afghan stitches across and back. You should already know how to do the basic afghan stitch for this pattern. Fasten off daisy color. Do not turn.
ROW 3: Join blue in first vertical bar of the first afghan stitch. Ch3. Work 1 dc in each vertical bar across. Fasten off blue.
ROW 4-19: Rep rows 2 & 3 consecutively. At the end of row 19, fasten off and weave all ends into back of work.
Finishing Perimeter: Join blue yarn in top left corner. Sc, ch1, sc in same corner. Work 2 sc in each dc row, 1 sc in each afghan stitch row and a sc, ch1, sc in each of the other 3 corners. Join w/slst to first sc of perimeter. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
