All Three Patterns For Members Only

[Scrubby Pad]

I did not make up this stitch but the reason I am featuring it is because I have seen many questions about it on the mailing lists that I subscribe to so I figured why not feature a stitch that is widely popular. It is a very versatile stitch and can be used in any type of pattern.

It can be used to make sampler squares, dishcloths, sweaters, afghans, placemats or any pattern that is done in rows or in rounds. The possibilities for projects with this stitch is endless.

Suggested materials
Worsted Weight--For afghans sweaters & sampler squares.
Worsted Weight cotton--for dishcloths, sweaters, placemats.
Sport & Baby yarns--For afghans, & layettes.
Crochet Threads---motifs, placemats, doilies done in rows.
Suggested Hooks
For WW Yarns F,G,H,I,J
For Sport & Baby Yarns D,E,F
For threads Use what ever size hook is recommended for the size thread you are using. Steel works best of course.

Front Post Double Crochet (fpd):

Insert hook from the front of the row and wrap your hook around the post of the dc from the right to the left and complete as you would a normal double crochet.

Back Post Double Crochet (bpd): Insert hook on the back of the row on the right side of the post and wrap your hook around the post of the dc from the right to the left and comlete as you would a normal double crochet.
