This potholder was fun to make and it can be completed in an evening. It is a good pattern to make when you don't feel like concentrating on a pattern's instructions to closely.

Worsted weight cotton yarn in Denim Grey
Worsted weight cotton yarn in ombre pastels
Size H/8 aluminum crochet hook
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Gauge: 4dc = 1"
Finished Size: 9"wx7"h
Skill Level: Beginner
ROW 1: With grey, ch 21. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch3, turn.
ROW 2: Dc in first sc (so that you have 2 dc in first sc.) and in each sc across. Work a total of 2 dc in last sc. Ch1, turn.
ROW 3: Sc in each dc across. Sc in top of ch3. Ch3, turn.
ROW 4-17: Rep rows 2 & 3 consecutively. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work. Make another one with the ombre pastels and do not fasten off the 2nd piece.
Finishing Assembly: Place both pieces together, wrong sides facing each other. Use a sc through both layers. Work 1 sc in each sc row, 2sc in each dc row, 1sc in each st across the top and bottom and work 2 sc in each of the 4 corners. Join w/slst to the first sc where you started stitching them together. Fasten off. Weave ell ends into work.
