Pumpkin Base
RND 1: With orange, ch4, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. 14dc in ring. Join w/slst to top of ch3. (15dc)

RND 3: Ch3, dc in same st as slst. Dc in next dc. *2dc in next dc. Dc in next dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. (45sts)

RND 4: Ch1, 2sc in same st as slst. Dc in each of the next 4 sts. *2sc in next st. Dc in each of the next 4 sts. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. (54sts)

RND 5: Ch1, sc in same st as slst and in next st. (Dc in next dc. 2dc in each of the next 2 dc. Dc in next dc.) *Sc in each of the next 2 sc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. (72sts)

RND 6-10: Ch1, sc in same st as slst and in next st. Dc in each of the next 6 dc. *Sc in each of the next 2 sc. Dc in each of the next 6 dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. (72sts)

In this round, you are going to decrease a total of 8 stitches so the very first part does not have any decreases in it. The repeats do. This is to accommodate the 46 holes you punched in the container.

RND 12: Ch1, sc in same st as slst and in next st. Dc in each of the next 4 sts. *Sc in each of the next 2 sts. Dc in next st. Dec1. Dc in next st. Sc in each of the next 2 sc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. (46sts)

Now you will join the base to the container. Stuff each section as you go on the outside of the container.

RND 13: Join work to base by working 1 sc in each stitch and hole at the same time all the way around. Join w/slst to first sc. Fasten off and weave ends into work. Set base aside!

Witch's Hat Lid This hat has a solid base and so this is where we begin.
RND 1: With black, ch4, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. 15dc in ring. Join w/slst to top of ch3. (16dc)

RND 2: Ch3, dc in same st as slst. 2dc in each dc around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. (32dc)

RND 5: Ch3. Dc in each dc around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

This next round is where you will prepare for the brim and the crown of the hat. Turn your work around so you are going in the opposite direction and work in the back loop only on this round only. When you are done with the brim, and start the crown, the crown will be worked on the front loop of this round.

RND 6: Ch3, 2dc in same st as slst. 3dc in each st around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 7: Ch3. Dc in each dc around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.

Crown of Hat Rejoin yarn in front loop of RND 6. You are going to be decreasing on every other round on the crown, starting at round 3.

RND 1: Insert hook from outside to inside toward the center. Ch3. Dc in each st around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. (64sts)
