Regal Snowflake

This snowflake looks like it is made up of a ring of crowns. It is a little different from most snowflakes in that it has a large hole in the center. So you could actually embellish this snowflake with a tiny Christmas or other winter holiday charm.

Materials Needed
Small amount size 10 crochet cotton in white. Southmaid was used in the example.
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle

Gauge: 10sc=1"
Finished Size: 4" diameter
Skill Level: Beginner Instructions
RND 1: Ch36. Being Careful not to twist chain, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch3, dc in same st as slst. Ch2. Sk next ch. *2dc in next ch. Ch2. Sk next ch. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3.

RND 2: Slst in the next dc. Slst in next ch2 sp. Sc in same sp. Ch5. Sc in next ch2 sp. 3dc, ch3, 3dc in next ch2 sp. *Sc in next ch2 sp. Ch5. Sc in next ch2 sp. 3dc, ch3, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc.

RND 3: Slst into the first ch5 sp. Ch5, dc, ch2, dc, ch5, dc, ch2, dc, ch2,dc in same ch5 sp. Ch2. Sc, ch5, sc in next ch3 sp. Ch2. *Dc, ch2, dc, ch2, dc, ch5, dc, ch2, dc, ch2, dc in next ch5 sp. Ch2. Sc, ch5, sc in next ch3 sp. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5. Fasten off and stiffen as desired. Attach hanger to one of the points.
