Square Ornament

I designed this ornament in 1984 during my first Christmas as a new mom and wife. It is not one of my best designs but it is one that I put on my tree every year.

Materials Needed:
Small amount Caron Christmas Glitter yarn in varigated.
Size H or 5mm aluminum crochet hook.
Stuffing of choice
Yarn Needle

Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Gauge: 4sc=1"
Finished Size: =4"x4"
Skill Level: Easy

Instructions
Panels make 2.
ROW 1: Ch11. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch1 turn.

ROW 2-13: Sc in each sc across ch1, turn. At the end of row 13. Fasten off and weave ends into work.

Joining.
RND 1: With wrong sides facing each other. Sc the two sides together working one sc in each row and in each st around. Work 3 sc in each corner. Before closing up the fourth side, stuff lightly.

RND 2: Ch21. Sc in next sc. Ch3. *Sc in each of the next 2 sc. Ch3. Rep from * all the way around. Join w/slst to first ch of ch20. Fasten off and weave ends into work. The ch20 lp is your hanging loop.
