Spider Web Tea Light Candle Holder

This pattern is designed with using a battery operated Tea Light in mind. It is fast and easy to make and would make a very cute decoration for a Halloween Party.

Materials Needed
Size 10 Crochet Cotton in White
Size 10 Crochet Cotton in Black.
Small empty cup from Dry Drink Mix powder*
Size 7 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 8sc = 1"
Finished Size: 1 1/8" tall x 3-4" wide
Skill Level: Easy

Instructions
With White, make 2 the same
RND 1: Ch4, join w/slst to first ch to form ring. Ch3, 13dc in ring. Join w/slst to top of ch3. (14dc)

RND 2: Ch3, dc in same st as slst. 2dc in each dc around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. (28dc)

RND 3: Ch1, 2sc in same st as slst. Sc in next dc. *2sc in next dc. Sc in next dc. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to first sc. (42sc)

RND 4-8: Ch3. Dc in each st around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. At the end of RND 8, fasten off and weave ends into back of work.

Assembly:
RND 1 of assembly: Place both pieces together, wrong sides facing each other. Line up the starting stitches on both pieces. Join black to same st as slst through both pieces at the same time. Work through all 4 lps of both stitches throughout this round. Ch1, sc in each st around but about half way around, stop and put the little cup inside your work to cover the plastic container. Continue stitching and join w/slst to first sc.

RND 2: Ch6. Sk next st. *Dc in next st, ch3, sk next st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch6.

RND 3: Ch8. Sk next st. *Dc in next st, ch5, sk next st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch8.

RND 4: Ch9. Sk next st. *Dc in next st, ch6, sk next st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch9.

RND 5: Ch10. Sk next st. *Dc in next st, ch7, sk next st. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch10.

* I used a small cup from inside a Great Value Dry Drink mix container that I bought from Wal-Mart

SAFETY NOTE!This Tea Light Candle holder is only meant to be used with Battery operated Tea Lights. Do not use a real Tea Light Candle for DANGER of Fire!
