Eliot SquareDesigned By Julie A. BolducThis square is another one named for a town in Maine. The colors represent different aspects of the town. Yellow for wheat, grey for fish, brown for the Captain's Wheel, blue for the ocean, off white for the fisherman and red for the red bricks on their old original town hall.
Materials Needed
Yarn Thickness: 4mm
Special Stitches Used.
Bobble (bl)
Instructions RND 2: Join grey in any ch1 sp. Starting bobble in same sp. Ch4. *Bobble in next ch1 sp. Ch4. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of first bobble.
RND 3: Ch2, hdc, ch2, 2hdc in same st as slst. Sc in next ch4 sp. *2hdc, ch2, 2hdc in next bobble. Sc in next ch1 sp. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch2. Fasten off grey. RND 4: Join brown in any ch2 sp. (Ch1. 2sc in same sp. Ch1. Work 1 tr in space between the 2 dc of round 1 working over the ch4 sp and sc of round 2 & 3.) *3sc in next ch2 sp. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1. RND 5: Ch1. Sc in each of the next 2 sc. (Sc in next ch1 sp. Sc in next tr. Ch3, slst in 3rd ch from hook. Sc in same tr. Sc in next ch1 sp.) *Sc in each of the next 3 sc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off brown. RND 6: Join Off White in first sc to the left of the slst. Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in same st. (Sk 1 st. Dc in next st. Ch3. Sk the next sc, the picot and the next sc. Dc in each of the next 5 sc. Ch3. Sk next sc, the picot and the next sc. Dc in next sc. Sk the next sc.) *3dc, ch2, 3dc in next sc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. Fasten off, Off White. RND 7: Join blue in same st as slst. Ch1. Sc in each of the next 2dc. (Sc, ch2, sc in next ch2 corner sp. Sc in each of the next 4 dc. 2sc in next ch3 sp. Sc in each of the the next 5 dc. 2sc in next ch3 sp. Sc in next dc.) *Sc in each of the next 3 dc. Rep bet () once. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to ch1. Fasten off blue. RND 8: Join red in same st as slst. Work 1 sc in each sc around but work a sc, ch1, sc in each ch2 corner sp.
