Ribbons Bookmark

Designed By Julie A. Bolduc

This bookmark was inspired by a bookmark made of satin ribbons I saw in a Bible at church. I thought to myself, I really should make one of those for the book of common prayer we use at church. So I designed this one made of thread.

Materials Needed
Small amount size 30 crochet cotton. Pastel variagated colors. Solid color can be used.
Size 11 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle

Gauge: 14dc=1"
Finished Size: 12" long
Skill Level: Beginner

Instructions
Make 6 the same.

Leaving a 12" end, ch102. Dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each chain across. Fasten off leaving another 12" end. Bring all 6 "ribbons" together so that all of the ends are together as one thick strand. Tie all ends into a knot as close to the end of the crochet work as possible.

Divide the ends into 3 sections and braid them together to form a tail which is 4½" long. Tie another knot at the end of the braid. Cut the ends leaving a ½" tail from the knot. Done.

Use each ribbon, to save a place in your book.
