Sky Scraper Bookmark

This is one of those patterns that I started out not knowing what I was going to come up with. I knew I wanted to create a bookmark, but I had no idea what it would look like. Well this is what I came up with. When it was finished, I thought it looked like one of those sky scrapers in NY.

Materials Needed:
Small amount size 10 crochet cotton. Aunt Lydia's in ecru was used in the example.
Size 8 steel crochet hook
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends

Yarn Thickness: 10thread
Gauge: 10tr =1"
Finished Size: 8"x2"
Skill Level: Beginner

Instructions
ROW 1: Ch20. Tr in 5th ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch4, turn.

ROW 2: Sk first tr. Tr in each of the next 4 tr. Ch7. Sk next 7 tr. Tr in each of the last 5 tr. Ch4, turn.

ROW 3: Sk first tr. Tr in each of the next 4tr. Sk next 3chs. 2tr, ch3, 2tr in next ch. Sk next 3 chs. Tr in each of the last 5 tr. Ch4, turn.

ROW 4: Sk first tr. Tr in each of the next 4 tr. Ch7. Sk next 7 sts. Tr in each of the last 5 tr. Ch4, turn.

ROW 5: Sk first tr. Tr in each of the next 4 tr. Tr in each of the next 7 chs. Tr in each of the last 5 tr. Ch4, turn.

ROW 6: Rep row 2.

ROW 7: Rep row 3.

ROW 8: Rep row 4.

ROW 9-16: Rep rows 5-8 two times more.

ROW 17: Sk first tr. Tr in each of the next 4 tr. Tr in each of the next 7 chs. Tr in each of the last 5 tr. Ch1, turn.

ROW 18: Sk first tr. Slst in each of the next 2 sts. Ch4. Tr in each of the next 4 sts. Ch3. Sk next 3 sts. Tr in each of the next 5 sts. Ch1, turn.

ROW 19: Sk first tr. Slst in each of the next 2 sts. Ch4. Tr in each of the next 8 sts. Ch1, turn.

ROW 20: Sk first tr. Slst in each of the next 2 sts. Ch4. Tr in each of the next 4 sts. Ch1. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work.
