Scavenger HuntI hope you are enjoying the Scavenger Hunt!
The item for Friday, February 17, 2017 is below.
Item: You are hunting for the "Neko Potholder".
Clue: You will find it in the Miscellaneous patterns.
It will not be on any of the actual pattern pages.
Today's Featured Pattern!Today's Featured Pattern' is:
You could fold this discloth in half, stitch around the outside edge to close it with a row of single crochets, to make it into a pot holder!.
All of the patterns on this site are free! Enjoy! Starting sometime in January, I will start adding other designer's patterns to the site. If you would like for me to visit a site to pick a few free patterns from, let me know. The main criteria, for me to add the pattern to my database, is there has to be a photo of the project, an actual pattern page as well as a downloadable PDF file.
Crochet Tip of the Day
If you are making a basic chain bracelet with beads worked into the stitches, use a crimping or folding clasp at the ends to hold your actual closure clasp. Like ribbon ends.
Web Site Future Plans
Right now I am in the process of making about 1000 paper bead rollers so when that is done, I will work on taxes. When that is done, I plan to work on making both sites work together. So far I have made 500 paper bead rollers since I got my last batch of stained wood dowels, 2 weeks ago, to make the handles.
In the new year, I will be making both of my sites work together for the points system. The newsletter I send out every day will have more of a mixture of paper beads and crochet. The paper bead site will have it's own points program but you will be able to go into your points account on the paper bead side and combine your points with those on your jpfun.com site. You will have to make sure you have the same username on both sites in order for it to work. I will be adding the scavenger hunt, Pawprint tracker and 1000 point tracker to the paper bead site and points that are earned on the paper bead site will be added to points on the jpfun site. In the future, not only will you be able to use the points to pay for entries in the weekly raffle, but you will also be able to get discounts on items I plan to offer in the future. I will put together a little online store. The discounts will be applied when you use points up to a 50% discount on some items. Sometimes the discount will be for free shipping if I don't already offer free shipping on a given item. Most of the items I will offer will be paper bead related or made with paper beads. I have to learn a few things first on the programming end of things on how to make the 2 websites work together so be patient. This will happen. It won't be automatic, you will have to do some clicking on both sites but the points you earn on both sites will be usable on the jpfun.com site.
Latest Poll Question
I have been making Paper Bead Coloring Books in Paper Back Form.
I am considering making my crochet patterns available in Paperback form as well starting with Granny Squares.
They are already available for the Kindle Fire.

Paper Bead Tip of the Day
If you use what I use to glaze my beads, PC-Petrifier and a top coat glaze, make sure to let the first dip into the PC-Petrifier soak into the paper by leaving the strand of beads in the PC-Petrifier for at least a count of 30 seconds. This will make the beads rock hard! Then continue as you normally would when dipping your paper beads.
1000 Point Tracker
You will find today's 1000 point tracker in the

Prize: Surprise Pack
On Sundays, I will pick a weekly raffle winner! You cannot win more than once in a given month. Please allow up to a week to 10 days for postal delivery of your prize.
Weekly Surprise PackThis prize will go out out Monday February 6, for the winner who is chosen on February 5, 2017.
A Surprise Pack, for the next few weeks, or months, the prize will be a surprise pack. It will be something from my inventory for the craft fairs I participated in. I have decided I am no longer going to participate in any craft fair since the return on my time and money investment is not worth it. So from now on, when I make stuff for YouTube videos, the items I make multiples of, for the sake of the video, will be used as prizes, as well as other stuff I make, or have in my stash that I don't need anymore. It may even also contain a split pin paper bead roller with a wooden handle of a random size. I have discontinued the wood handle split pin paper bead rollers and I am working on clearing them out. If you don't want to wait to win one, you can purchase them on Amazon.com individually.

Latest Updated Pattern
My Little Tote
Originally designed in July of 2005, the My Little Tote is the latest pattern I have updated! What I did to it was, I did not have the original photo on my computer but I did have the original tote bag in storage so I just took a new photo of it. The photo is bigger, has a white background and is more clear. I also updated the pdf file that goes with it!
Most of the future patterns that I will be updating, will be those in the Granny Square category. I am getting them ready to publish into a paperback book. Hopefully I will have them all updated and ready for the book by October 1. I don't have all of the actual granny squares I made nor do I have the original photos so I have to make them and take fresh photos of almost all of them.
